As we entered generation Z, technologies boosted like rockets. People nowadays are more droned to their gadgets, sitting all day long in front of the wide television screen, mobile games up to the wee hours of the morning, chatting online, scrolling up and down through Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, watching and video streaming all night long that makes people so lazy to get up and be physically active again. With those activities, a lot of us are suffering from obesity. And what is more worse than that, is,¬† we don’t realize that our pets are suffering from it too.

Let’s take a look further on how to know that your pet is already obese and some guidelines to help them get in shape again.

Feel the ribs

You cannot easily determine if your pet is overweight just by looking at them. Because there are times that they might look huge but their weight is stating something else. Best thing to do is to feel the rib cage. In this way you will know if the ribs are larger than pencils in a breast pocket.

Just like humans, most of us are dreaming for an hour glass figure and that is one of the factors we consider to have a good body and posture. It goes like that too with pets. When you are looking at your pet from above it should also look like a sexy curvy woman.

Side view check

The last thing you need to check is what they call the tummy-tuck. We dont want seeing ourselves with hanging tummies right? So if you are looking at the side of your pet and the tummy is not intact then that is a sign that your dog is not on his ideal weight.

It is time to make a change and keep that feet moving for you and your pets. As we are aiming for that lovely figures of the celebrities we are watching on tv, then we need to do something about it. Get up and get groovin’ and take your pets with your routine. To shed pounds, dogs should lessen the food intake and search for some healthy exercises or activities that both you and your pet will enjoy.

Eliminate calories

Reduce the foods that you are giving that are not healthy and just putting more calories than vitamins. Remove table scraps from the list. Lessen the treats that you are giving. You can have a balanced diet. And consult your vet for a nutritious meal plan.

Explore more indoor and outdoor activities that you can do with your dog to maintain both your good physique and living a disease free life. Being active doesnt just mean going to  regular gym and sweat all your body up. A simple walk and jog to the park will do. Create simple plays indoors that require running or jumping ( ball catching, or any interactive games).
